Location: One hour northeast of downtown Edmonton

Description of operation:
Our 70-acre farm is located just one-hour northeast from Downtown Edmonton.  There is  20-acres of field and the rest is treed with several trails to explore. We run a very successful Certified Organic Market Garden serving a 30 family CSA (Community Supported Agriculture).  We also sell on Saturdays at the Edmonton Downtown Farmer’s Market, and to local restaurants and health food stores. Length of apprenticeship: Our season goes from mid-March until mid-October.

Number of apprentices sought: 2

Areas of potential apprentice specialization:
Greenhouse; irrigation; mechanical transplanting; hand weeding; harvesting and processing vegetables for market.

General work expectations:
Days are from 8 am to 6pm. Apprentices are expected to participate in all of the work areas listed under areas of specialization.

Minimum work expectations:
18 years.  Incumbent must be able to do manual labour, work independently and as part of a team.  Passion for organic farming.

Lodging: We offer lodging.
